"Wildcat Glory" Mini Print
A Kentucky Tradition
by Cheri Issel
Enjoy this wonderful rendition of the Kentucky Wildcat that can only come from the creative mind of an amazing artist. Cheri Issel bleeds blue and this painting expresses all the energy that comes from being a lifelong Kentucky fanatic. Cheri was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, home of the Kentucky Wildcats. She attended games with her father, Virgil Hughes, where she grew to love Kentucky basketball. She was a cheerleader for Lafayette High School and also for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Her mother, Mary Hughes, sewed the body of the suit the very first Wildcat Mascot ever wore in 1968. Cheri married Dan Issel, UK Mens basketball leading scorer, after her junior season. Cheerleaders were not allowed to be married at that time, so her Senior season she was an advisor for the cheerleaders and traveled with the team.
Smaller edition print is hand signed by Dan & Cheri Issel and measures 11x14.
All player or coach signed items come with a Certificate of Authenticity from our gallery.
